For Leaders

Op-Eds Aren’t Opinion Pieces. They’re Leadership Moments.

August 3, 2026

A well-placed op-ed is not vanity writing. It is a leadership moment — a chance to weigh in on the conversation your peers and community are already having.

Seven hundred words in the right regional paper or trade outlet can establish credibility faster than months of social posts. The column carries the outlet’s trust, your voice, and a clear point of view on something that matters.

The work is not typing. It is choosing the right topic, finding the angle reporters would actually cover, writing in your voice, and placing the piece where decision-makers read. Done well, one column opens doors to interviews, speaking invitations, and relationships that last far longer than a news cycle.

If you are a CEO, pastor, or executive director with something to say, an op-ed is often the most efficient way to say it well.
